QUALITIES OF MY IDEAL TARGET AUDIENCE:
· Is Influenced And Intrigued By Fashion – people influenced by fashion, would like to buy my magazine because there are elements of fashion included in the magazine, such as the ‘fashion victories and disasters’ cover line on the front cover. Also the fashion elements, of the artists used in the magazine would influence how they dress.
· Is Inspired By The Rich And Famous – typical material girls would buy my magazine because, although it is not the only fashion oriented magazine, it is the only music magazine which includes fashion elements. The glamour element of the featured artists as well as the music involved should appeal to this genre of people.
· Listens to R&B And Pop Genres Of Music – the majority of the music in this magazine will be of the R&B, Pop, and Hip Hop genre of music. Statistics show that people who listen to this type of music in the UK do not buy music magazines, whereas people who listen to this type of music in the USA do tend to buy music magazines, this is because there is a stunning lack of music magazines to cater to the R&B, Pop, and Hip Hop genre of music in the UK. In the USA, however, there is a lack of music magazines to cater to the ‘Rock’ genre of music.
· Likes To Watch MTV – there will be a lot of information from MTV, featured in this magazine; specifically MTV base. This is because MTV is the most watched music channel in the UK, hence the popularity of the MTV awards.
· Watches Programmes Like Sex And The City, The Hills – these are quite girly, young programmes, with inspiring women, as well as relatable women. The magazine is aimed at the female generation, which is why it is suitable to used colours, like pink, on the front cover.
· Loves Listening To Music Often – as the magazine is a music magazine, the like for music would be useful as a quality for my target audience, because they will be aware of whom some/most of the artists are.
· Young And Current – these types of people would buy my magazine because there is a lot of new artist gossip, embedded in the magazine. The ‘Rochelle’ interview contains gossip elements. Also there will be a lot of information about new artists and new upcoming bands to keep the readers ‘in the know’
· Likes To Shop In Places Like H&M, Or River Island, Or New look – these are quite high ended, high street fashion places to shop. The target audience for these types of shops are females between the age of 14 and 24, which is similarly the target audience for my music magazine. All three of these shops have newsletters, which could be useful for advertising. Also those shops are likely to want to advertise new fashions ‘worn by artists’, in my magazine.
