For a majority of the pictures taken, I used white background. However, I found later on, that this was not necessarily necessary because I could erase the background in Photoshop. I used a white backdrop to provide a plain background so my pictures could be easily edited. Also after research, a majority of the images taken contains simple white backgrounds. So I felt a white background made the image look more professional and would make the magazine also look more professional.
I had to take about 559 images, just to get about 6 good images. I experimented with lighting, camera flash, and props. For some of the images, I experimented with the use of a fan to make the model/artist look windswept. I did actually buy a 12 megapixel digital camera to take the photos with.
