Images

I made sure that my images (especially my front cover image) were bright and eye-capturing so when people saw the magazine, they would be enticed to read it, from its appearance. With the exception of one image, all of the images featured in the magazine, maintained eye contact with the reader, to allow the reader to personalise the magazine, in attempt to make the reader feel as though the magazine is directed at them, and they would be adamant to read the magazine. The eye contact acts a hook to reel the customers in.

My front cover photograph was heavily influenced by my target market because I had to think about the mise en scene of the artist. The clothes worn, had to correlate with the clothes worn by actual R&B, hip hop, and pop artists. I was inspired by artists such as Beyonce, Ciara, and Jojo. My use of a seductive-looking female model was in attempt to lure in influential people into looking at the magazine. Also as the front cover, is the first thing a customer sees, it is important that it is appealing and looks inviting. I wanted the female gender to admire/envy her look. Her fashion had to be inspirational, so that the target audience saw her as a type of role model.

I have tried to make sure that the person on the front of the magazine reflects the target audience so that people will buy the magazine based on the person featured on the cover. Using a well-known, and current arist as the front cover, will attract the target audience and invite people to buy the magazine. The artist on the cover can even vary the target audience, of that particular magazine edition. Also the featuring of popular artists at the bottom of the page, will also attract the target audience. This is because, even if they do not like the main artist on the fornt cover, the featuring artist will be of the same genre, and the customer may be more interested in one of the featuring artisit. The featured artists are even in the contents page.
